The monument is located in the Kedu Valley, in the southern part of Central Java, at the centre of the island of Java, Indonesia. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has an amazing 72 sculpted figures of Buddha.

It is easy to visit Borobudur from the neighboring city of Yogyakarta on a day trip, It is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset so try to time your visit to make the most of the natural light show here. 4. PRAMBANAN TEMPLES

Candi Prambanan is also a very popular temple complex. Together with Borobudur Temple thet are the most visited temple complexes. But they are very different. While Borobudur is Buddhist, Prambanan is a Hindu Temple. 

Candi Prambanan is also  designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Prambanan Temple Compounds consist of Prambanan Temple (also called Loro Jonggrang), Sewu Temple, Bubrah Temple and Lumbung Temple. Prambanan Temple itself is a complex consisting of 240 temples. All the mentioned temples form the Prambanan Archaeological Park and were built during the heyday of Sailendra’s powerful dynasty in Java in the 8th century AD.

5.  UJUNG KULONG NATIONAL PARC

This national park, located in the extreme south-western tip of Java on the Sunda shelf, includes the Ujung Kulon peninsula and several offshore islands and encompasses the natural reserve of Krakatoa. In addition to its natural beauty and geological interest – particularly for the study of inland volcanoes – it contains the largest remaining area of lowland rainforests in the Java plain. Several species of endangered plants and animals can be found there, the Javan rhinoceros being the most seriously under threat.

We only recommend you to visit Ujung Kulong National Parc if you are and adventurous travel. No luxury, no confort...difficult to get there...But you will be rewarded!

6. DIENG PLATEAU

Dieng Plateau is a natural wonder tucked in the highlands of central Java, Indonesia, not too far from the city of Yogyakarta. Around 4 hours by car.
