DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MEDAN – TANGKAHAN (BAMBOO LODGE)

Arrive at the Kuala Namu International Airport. We will fetch you and directly depart to Tangkahan. If time is available, you will do a city tour first visiting Sultan Palace, Great Mosque, Chinese temple and then drive to Tangkahan via Binjai and Batang Serangan. Afternoon arrival at Tangkahan check in at the hotel.

Remarks:

Accommodations in Tangkahan are basic, built with simple materials to keep in harmony with nature. Electricity run by own generator and not available after 22:00 pm. Room is equipped with mosquito net and has own bathroom which comes with shower with cold water (no hot water).

DAY 2: TANGKAHAN –  RIVER SAFARI

After breakfast walking to the starting point for Elephant riding, where you may join with the Mahout during washing the Elephant, after washing the Elephant you can ride the Elephant trough the river and jungle, the elephant riding will take about 01 hour. After riding the elephant take a short rest and then enjoying tubing trough the river and then stop will be made at Fantastic Buluh Waterfall where you may enjoy the waterfall where you can take nature shower and then you can enjoy sun bathing and swimming on the river. Afternoon arrival at the village you can get in touch with local people, where you can see the daily activities of the local people and then return to guest house by walking for overnight.

DAY 3: TANGKAHAN – BUKIT LAWANG

In the morning you start drive to Bukit Lawang. Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, you will start the trekking to see orangoutans their natural habitat. After that you continue jungle trekking for 3 hours to explore the park. Steep, slopes and dense vegetation will bring you to the excitement of the Sumatra rainforest. Walkers must be fit and have suitable, large profile shoes. Overnight stay in hotel Rindu Alam or Eco Lodge Bukit Lawang Cottages or similar.

DAY 4: BUKIT LAWANG – MEDAN – OUT

Today you drive back to Medan for catch your flight to next destination. End of your Elephants and Orangutans tour with us.
